MSA Powercycle - Best Practice

Backup the data prior to doing a full power cycle of the MSA device where possible
Time the power cycle for immediately after a verified backup of the LUNs/application server has completed.


Do a controlled shutdown of application services and server(s) connected to the MSA.
After a minute or so, to ensure data is flushed from cache to persistent storage, perform a
controller shutdown of the MSA using the GUI.
Finally, disconnect the power cords from the back of the MSA, wait a minute, before reconnecting.
The MSA powers on automatically when power cords are connected.
Wait at least 5 mins before powering on the server(s).
